Safety first
How we keep transactions safe.
What we do
- Phone verification required for every seller before their first listing.
- First 3 listings of every new seller are reviewed by a real human (usually within 2 hours).
- Optional Stripe Identity verification — verified sellers get a gold badge.
- Off-platform contact filtering — messages can't share phone, email, or external payment links until trust is established.
- Three reports = automatic 7-day suspension and admin review.
- Image hash checking against known scam databases.
What you should do
For buyers
- Meet at a Pierce County Safe Exchange Zone. The Sheriff's Department maintains designated public spots — well-lit, often video-monitored. The closest to Gig Harbor is the Pierce County Sheriff substation parking lot.
- Inspect before you pay. Especially for electronics, cars, and anything mechanical. If something feels off, walk away.
- Use platform messaging. Don't share your phone or email until pickup is confirmed.
- Pay through Stripe. If a seller asks for Cash App, Zelle, or wire transfer — that's a scam signal. Real sellers welcome platform protection.
- Bring a friend. Especially for higher-value pickups.
- Trust your gut. If a deal seems too good to be true, it usually is. Report it and move on.
For sellers
- Don't share your home address until pickup is confirmed. Use a public meet spot when possible.
- Verify the buyer hit "Buy Now." Don't release the item until you see the platform notification.
- Trust your reputation. A bad transaction can hurt your rating and make it harder to sell.
Red flags — block and report immediately
- Buyer/seller wants to wire money or use Western Union.
- Pressure to share personal info before any commitment.
- Asking to pay outside the platform.
- Listings with stock photos or photos that look suspiciously professional.
- Prices dramatically below market.
- Stories about being out of town and needing shipping.
